The Red Stare

The Red Stare was created for Vermilion, drawing on the heightened use of colour, the split-screen cinematography of Mario Tosi, and the psychological intensity of Brian De Palma’s 1976 film Carrie. Rather than referencing a single scene, the painting explores tension, anticipation and emotional unease through colour and composition.
