Totem II

Oil on Canvas, 2026
90 x 120 cm

Part of the Inner Worlds exhibition at Seventh Circle, Totem II continues an evolving series of paintings exploring shifting emotional states through repetition, fragmentation and subtle psychological change.

Working in stacked compositions, the paintings move beyond traditional portraiture and into something more fluid and unstable. Slight changes in expression, gaze and tension create movement across the surface, allowing the work to function almost like fragments from a moving image.

Created in Birmingham in 2026, the work forms part of the wider Totem series by Emma Woolley.
