A Very Exciting Piece of OSB
Okay, so it might not look like much… but this right here - a single sheet of OSB board - is the start of something I’ve been craving for ages.
For the first time since moving into the studio at the Custard Factory, I’m finally setting things up to paint on a bigger scale. That’s always been the dream. I had this idea: grab some OSB, stretch canvas directly over it, and just get going. Keep it simple. Get stuck in. And suddenly it all feels possible.
Honestly, I’ve never been so happy to see a piece of wood in my life. I stood there grinning like an idiot because it’s not just OSB - it’s space. It’s movement. It’s freedom. It means I get to paint bigger, be more expressive, and let the work breathe a bit more. That matters to me.
Even better, it’s all happening here - in this space we’ve built. A proper, shared home for both my art practice and the design studio. It’s taken a while to get it all feeling like mine, but now that I’ve started bringing the painting in, it’s like something’s clicked into place.
So yes, I’m emotionally attached to a bit of building board. But it’s more than that. It’s the start of something.
