Totem V

Oil on Canvas, 2026
90 x 120 cm

Created for the Inner Worlds exhibition at Seventh Circle, Totem V forms part of an ongoing body of work exploring shifting emotional states through repetition, layering and subtle psychological change.

Across the Totem series, stacked compositions and repeated forms create a sense of movement between emotional states rather than fixed identities. Small shifts in expression, surface and gaze allow the paintings to function almost like fragmented frames from a moving image.

Created in Birmingham in 2026, the work forms part of the wider Totem series by Emma Woolley.
